Before now, I was hesitant about Kafka on the Shore because I keep assuming it would be filled with Kafka references that would go right over my head, as I've read near no Kafka, but I suppose I shall take the plunge and see what I find.

About the running-focused book, I'm ambivalent. On the one hand, it's Murakami, which makes it interesting. On the other, it's a non fiction book about running, something I'd never consider picking up by another author.Nathaniel Katzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12852939663324751332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024708439940556234.post-12171710606045474502011-02-05T23:50:59.255-05:002011-02-05T23:50:59.255-05:00Oh, it's so good! I'll make it my next Murakami now, though.Nathaniel Katzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12852939663324751332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024708439940556234.post-42783445697716631312011-02-05T23:16:23.642-05:002011-02-05T23:16:23.642-05:00Hell yeah!

I hadn't realised that was you there, but what a gorgeous write-up.

Needless to say I profoundly disagree - having come directly from Kafka on the Shore, After Dark only left me feeling deflated. But that's hardly the points, and you make a fascinating few, Nathaniel. It's been years; perhaps I'll give After Dark another shot, get myself good and ready for IQ84...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08713791516631476930noreply@blogger.com
